About Us...
Mrs. BrownStaying active is important to me, I especially love to run! I grew up playing a variety of sports. Ever since joining cross country in high school, I have found running to be enjoyable. So far I have run two marathons and nine half marathons.
Hello! I am excited to be teaching both ELA and Social Studies this school year. We are going to have a great year on TEAM 62! I look forward to getting to know all about you as a learner and as a person.
Here are a few interesting facts about me... I grew up in Chelsea, MI. I received both my undergraduate degree and my master's degree from MSU. GO GREEN!!!! I have two wild and active dogs named Buckley and Dozer. Last year, on January 19, 2018, our family expanded with the addition of our son, Will. He has been nothing, but fun and has added joy to our lives.
He loves to rollover, sit up, take naps, and is enjoying trying new foods. I am entering into my thirteenth year of teaching. I began my career in Beijing, China. I had heard of a dynamic new international school that Michigan State University was piloting and jumped at the opportunity to be a part of its creation. For the first three years of my teaching
career I taught kindergarten at 3e International School, a dual immersion bilingual school. It was a truly amazing experience to live and teach in another culture, while learning about so many other cultures as well. In my class, I had over 13 different nationalities represented. I still hold this teaching experience near and dear to my heart. After my teaching experience in Beijing, I began teaching in Haslett, Mi. I taught 4th and 5th grade for seven years before becoming a Holt Ram. This will be my fourth year, teaching at Hope Middle School. I am looking forward to help inspire and empower more sixth grade students this year. |
Mrs. ReeserHello, welcome to TEAM 62! I am thrilled to be teaching Math and Science again this year. I am enthusiastically anticipating this new school year and I hope that you are looking forward to it as much as I am.
Some exciting news that we want to s hare with you is this November I will be on maternity leave for 12 weeks. My husband and I our expecting our first child, a boy! For you to get to know me better here are a few interesting facts about me... I grew up in Mason, MI. I had the opportunity to play soccer in college and receive my undergraduate degree at Saginaw Valley State University, but like my coworker I always root for MSU!!! GO WHITE!!! I also recently received my masters degree in Reading from Spring Arbor University. I love the outdoors, especially going camping and fishing. When I am not in the classroom, I am usually on the go doing something active, beach volleyball or kayaking. Running has been another passion of mine. I have ran it many races including the Tough Mudder. I was not able to run in that last Tough Mudder due to a knee injury, but I hope to make another race appearance in the near future.
This year I will be entering my 10th year of teaching. I began teaching 5th grade in Lansing for 2 years and in a charter school in Jackson teaching Math and Science for 6 years. As my 4th year in Holt is just around the corner, I am excited for this year to arrive. There will be so many new and amazing things that our Team will accomplish. This year will be not only be empowering, but an unforgettable year!
